Director Jessica Sanderson had this to say about the making of the video:
"When I listened to the lyrics for 'Forever Love' properly I realised there was a bit of heartache underlying what sounds initially like a straight up love song - so I thought we should honour that. I'd been through some 'matters of the heart' stuff myself, as we all have, so wanted to tap into that heavier, or more complicated, side of love.
The song had also been out for a while, so I wanted to make sure we did something that brought new life to it. I thought the acoustic version and interview would help the audience to understand Aaradhna's lyrics more, maybe hear them differently. It's not easy being that vulnerable, I think she was brave to agree to my concept and allow audiences to see that side of her.
Aaradhna and I both grew up around Wellington so it was awesome getting to shoot something back home again. We had an amazing Welli crew; Desray Armstrong producing, Matt Henley shooting, Estelle Stroud did an epic job with costume, hand embroidering her jacket. The hospitality at Library Bar reminded me how good Welli can be too, we were so well looked after."
