This year Jason Taumalolo celebrates 10 years playing top grade Rugby League in the NRL making his debut at 17yrs of age when he was still in high school. Since then he's gone on to win a NRL Grand final with the Cowboys in 2015 and was named the Rugby League Players Association Player of the Year by his fellow players in was then named as the joint winner of the Dally M Medal in addition to being named Lock of the Year for the second consecutive year in 2016. POLYNESIANS IN THE 2020 NFL DRAFT - HISTORY MAKERS!
This years 2020 NFL Draft held this weekend was the 85th annual meeting of NFL franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2020 NFL Season.
Players who have been out of high school for at least 3 years are eligible for the NFL draft and this years draft was highly anticipated by many Samoan NFL fans this year with Alabama Crimson Tide star Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Iowa Hawkeyes Football Defensive End AJ Epenesa, both eligible for the draft.
This year due to the Coronavirus outbreak the draft was held from the 23rd - 25th of April via video conferencing and made NFL history as the largest Polynesian Draft Class with 11 players of Polynesian heritage being picked up by NFL franchises in this years draft.
Polynesian Football Hall of Fame stated yesterday at the conclusion of the draft "Polynesians represent 5.4% of the top 204 players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, despite being only 0.3% of the U.S.…more

This Samoan teen is on his way to the big time
Roderick Solo is a name familiar to some in rugby circles but the 2019 Ignite7 MVP is on his way to becoming a household name in no time.
Red Bull’s new mini-series ‘On The Rise’, profiles three of the six MVPs from the 2019 Red Bull Ignite7 tournament, all of whom earnt themselves a trial spot for the national rugby sevens development squads.
Roderick went on to play representative rugby, including being a standout player at the World Schools Condor Sevens tournament and also one of the top players in the New Zealand Secondary Schools side last year.
We wish him all the best as he trials for a spot in the New Zealand Sevens Development Squad.
