Kuki/Samoan teen Jawsh 685 and US pop star Jason Derulo have just premiered the official video for their collab track 'Savage Love' today.
The video goes back and forth between the New Zealand–born Jawsh’s South Auckland neighbourhood of Manurewa and Jason Derulo in L.A.
Since the initial release of the official music video, Jawsh 685 & Jason have since teamed up with K Pop group BTS for a remix.
The track has just soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with the smash hit. The feat is a first for the 17-year-old New Zealand-born Cook Island Samoan producer but is BTS and Jason’s second song to top the Hot 100.
“This actually blows my mind to be U.S. number 1,” Jawsh 685 says. “A kid from South Auckland y’know showing other kids you can do it, any street you’re from, anywhere. You can do it, believe in yourself, you can do it. Trust me.”
